Franco Harris was an American professional football player. Born on 7 March 1950

Harris, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound workhorse from Penn State, found himself in the center of it all.

Harris’ impact was immediate. He won the NFL’s Rookie of the Year award in 1972 .
